My daughter who is 8 has had a smelly scalp practically since she was born. It smells like an old sponge and it is getting worse. Is there anything I can do to make it better?

I’m the person who wrote that letter to sulfursoap.com and SAL3 sulfur bar soap really did work for me.
I don’t use regular shampoo with it as the newsletter suggests though, because of sodium lauryl sulfates in regular shampoo.
Here is what I do:
I mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 3 cups warm water and put in squirt bottle.
Apply this to the roots of my dampened hair. Massage for 20 seconds or so.
Rinse throughly.
1 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with 4 cups warm water and put in squirt bottle.
Apply this to roots and massage 10 seconds, approximately.
Rinse thoroughly.
Lather my roots with SAL3 sulfur soap . Let sit for 20 or 30 seconds.
Rinse thoroughly.
I only have to do this 2 or 3 times a week even though I exercise almost everyday.
Condition once or twice a month with hot oil treatment.
NO MORE STINKY SCALP!!!!!!

I saw a similar answer stated on smellyhair.com recommending their soap. Your method seems more complete as it addresses fungus and bacteria.
About 3 months ago I started having really smelly hair when I awoke. I normally only wash my hair every other or third day. No more! I must shower and wash hair every day. Could I have picked up this fungus in the beauty salon?
I also have tingling or burning on the scalp. Also little bumps or pimple like feelings which do not itch, yet are appearing around the peramiter of my hairline onto my face and neck. These surrounding the hair line can itch and I put a topical acne erythromyacin alcohol solution.
Did you have any accompanying outbreak like this.
I asked my salon person the last haircut about this and he did not give awareness to a fungus scalp condition.
I have never heard of this. Interesting.

I am 30 and have had a smelly scalp for around 2-3 years now. I don’t know what caused it. My scalp seems very healthy, no flakes or itching. Just a scalp that really smells. It gets worse when I’m in the office at work. Although my feet don’t really smell, I think my scalp smells even more if I wear shoes and socks. The smell wafts around and I get very embarrassed to walk close to people. I am from Australia and there is nothing out there on the market that deals with this issue. Even my dermatologist had never heard of such thing as a smelly scalp. Also, the inside of my nose smells a bit too. Is this an internal thing or external. Please help.

I’ve suffered from this stinky scalp for YEARS, maybe 25 yrs if I had to put a number on it… since I was 10yrs old.
From my previous post, yes…sulfur bar soap works but , for just a while. I used it about a month and it was fine and was thrilled. Then I noticed the effect started to wear off a bit, I had to wash my hair more and more frequently. UGH!
I also suffer from acne that started at age 10 , I’m now 35. Maybe there is some correlation/ connection between smelly scalp and acne because of the oil glands and hormones?
Anyway, I will try to use the bar sulfur soap again and maybe it will work again, for a while. I really don’t want to have to wash my hair everyday though, so maybe just every other week or so.
